Southwest Michigan Vineyard
During my undergraduate years, I was assigned this project, I was tasked with an Editorial Brand Design. The primary
requirement was to design a fictitious magazine cover for a vineyard, travel magazine, or regional cooking trade magazine.
The second phase of the project was to design a companion mobile app for the trade magazine. This assignment included conception of the magazine name and logotype along with photography and subject matter for the articles.
I thought the name “Uncork’d” would be a creative name for a vineyard magazine related to the brand. I added a short wine glass into the “U” and a cork for the apostrophe. These touches add personality to the brand without distracting the reader from the brand name.

Vineyard App Development
I felt the mobile app should a relaxing, quaint feel, so I chose to make the fonts less formal with a sans-serif choice and selected photography that had a simplistic, organic feel to it. Ultimately, I kept all the visuals and app interface very simple and cohesive with color.
For this project, I used InDesign for each page of the app, and brought the files into InVision to program them into a live app.
